Android Beta Now Open

I’m excited to announce that Backseat Geologist is coming to Android! After launching on iOS earlier this year, I’m now opening up a closed beta for Android users.

What is Backseat Geologist?

Backseat Geologist turns your drive into a geology tour. The app provides GPS-triggered audio narration about the rocks and geological formations you’re passing, giving you insights into the landscape around you—all hands-free while you drive.

Join the Beta

The Android version brings the core features from iOS:

• GPS-triggered audio narration about geological formations
• Interactive geologic maps
• Route creation and exploration

Additional features from iOS like offline map and data downloads are not yet available on Android but will be added in the future.

As a beta tester, you’ll get early access to the app and have the opportunity to help shape its development on Android. Your feedback will be invaluable as I work to bring the best possible experience to Android users.
